Mike X Angel

Artist Biography by Mark Deming via AllMusic.com

A soul-inspired R&B vocalist, MikexAngel‘s clear voice and smooth delivery helped earn him a loyal underground following and the mentorship of Trey Songz. Born and raised in Virginia, MikexAngel (he says the name is pronounced “Mike Angel” and “the x is there for stylistic purposes”) first developed an interest in singing when he was three years old, as he’d record his voice on his grandmother’s tape machine and study his performances as he played them back. Angel received further encouragement in church, where he picked up his stage name after the pastors and choir members told him he had the voice of an angel. As Angel struggled to turn his talent into a career, he worked a variety of day jobs, including stints at Starbucks and Amazon, but the tables started to turn for him when he met Mu, older brother and manager of R&B star Trey Songz. Mu liked Angel‘s music, and gave him the chance to play his tracks “Boss” and “Chill” for Songz. Several months later, Angel got word from Mu that Songz wanted to include his material on his next mixtape. Songz‘s Anticipation 3 mixtape ended up featuring Angel on eight different tracks, and Songz took Angel on the road as his opening act. Mu and Songz signed Angel to their 300 Entertainment label (distributed by Atlantic), who released his debut album, Nothin 2 Somethin, in June 2017.

DJ M*thaF*ckin’ Rell

DJ Rell

Rell
Hailing from Orlando, Fl DJ Rell is one of the South’s top DJs and had only been in the game since early 2004. Born Darrell Mcallister, Rell entered into the DJing game after observing the local music scene. Rell felt that through his knowledge of the music industry he could help aspiring rappers get the exposure they needed by dropping mix tapes. He also learned from watching the local music scene that most radio stations won’t play music from underground artists due to radio station “politricks” so he took even harder to the streets forcing a one man army movement. His first mix tape release, entitled Live From The Gunshine State, was released in 2005 and quickly flew off the shelves of music stores across the central Florida region of the United States. DJ Rell took a break from the mix tape game and seen that it was a little bit more “trickery” involved so he watched, studied, and observed then came back with his DJ MUTHAF**KIN RELL and Rap Hustlin series! The Rap Hustlin series not only gave his listeners the music they wanted from major artist, but also included many underground artists who were on the rise. Rell also used the structure that the mom and pop stores were using in central Florida to make his name even more wide spread, by formatting mix cd’s along with his mix tapes. With his name ringing bells all over the US, both major and underground record labels went to calling for DJ Rell’s assistance with various projects.
A few of the artist that Rell campaigned there music to the masses were Plies, Gucci Mane, Oj Da Juiceman, Lil Boosie just to name a few. But the streets embraced DJ RELL and not only did Rell’s mix tapes become a hot commodity, but he copped some turntables and began spinning at some of the bigger events in US.
Right now Rell is hard at work continuing to brand DJ RELL and internet based promotional company Streets Inspired Music by the end of 2015 DJ Rell will definitely be a Super Power in the music industry.
